FAQ

What kind of projects do you work on?

We work on inclusive urban design, community-led research, and public space strategies from small-scale interventions to larger planning studies. Every project starts with understanding lived experience.

Do you only work in Copenhagen?

We’re based in Copenhagen but collaborate internationally. We take on projects and partnerships that align with our values, wherever they’re located.

Can echo support community groups or charities?

Yes. We often collaborate with grassroots organisations, non-profits, and educators. If you’re working on something aligned with inclusive public space, we’d love to hear from you.

What do you mean by ‘inclusive design’?

For us, inclusive design means creating environments that reflect the needs and experiences of everyone , especially those who are often left out of planning processes, like women, girls, migrants, and disabled people.

How does Echo collect data from communities?

We use workshops, walking interviews, surveys, and digital tools, always guided by consent, transparency, and care. Our goal is to turn real experiences into meaningful design insight.

Do you offer internships?

Yes — we offer internships twice a year, typically focused on inclusive design, research, and community engagement. If you’re interested in joining Echo, send us a short note and portfolio at mail@echo-architects.com and we’ll share more details.

I want to use an echo image or diagram for a publication. How do I get permission to use it?

Thank you for your interest in Echo’s work! If you’d like to use an image, diagram, or any of our visuals in a publication, please email us at mail@echo-architects.com with a brief description of how you plan to use it. We’re usually happy to share, especially for educational or research purposes — we just ask for proper credit and context.
